The Hare and
Hounds
Draught Lagers
Munchener Pilsner is the standard
session lager. At 3.6% alcohol, it
has the taste of a much stronger
beer.
The regulars know this one as
'Blue', which I can only assume
refers to the colour of the
dispense head.
Hofbrau Export is the middle
strength lager. Like the other two,
it is of German origin, in the style
of the Pilsener* beers of Europe, so
that it has a very hoppy, fairly
bitter taste. This one is, I think,
the smoothest of the three.
Hofbrau Premium is the
strong one. 5.0%, and
everso nice.
*Finally, an honorary mention for a
bottled beer.
The Urquell brewery is in Pilsen, in
the Czech republic, and claims to
have originated the style now known
as Pilsener. This beer is well worth
a taste, something I try to give it at
frequent intervals!
